There's an old saying that it's less about training the dog than training the owner!

That was certainly true in our house. My daughter has a beautiful golden retriever who comes to stay with us from time to time. This dog is adorable but has a several less than adorable habits like whining, sitting down in the middle of a walk, and not listening generally to commands. In stepped Lou, who is an absolute gem. Not only does he pick up and deliver the dog, but he treats him/her like family. Lou's training is worth every penny when you see the results. What makes Lou extraordinary is his willingness to spend as much time as necessary teaching owners how to maintain that training. He is patient, thorough, and one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure to meet. I highly recommend him if you are looking for an A+ experience for you and your dog.

My (now) two year old golden retriever has stayed with Lou for training three times beginning when she was less than three months old. In that first two week visit Lou was able to successfully stop Hucksley from barking in her crate (a miracle) and she came back knowing how to sit, stay, and walk on a leash. In addition to being a talented trainer with a true understanding of how to get the best out of your pup, Lou takes training and care incredibly seriously. He goes above and beyond: making himself available to discuss and answer any training question and ultimately hold your hand and assure you that you're doing a good job! Hucksley just returned from her last visit with Lou and I couldn't be more impressed. Lou makes your dog a part of his family and he certainly feels like a part of mine. During your pup's stay, he'll keep in constant contact and send frequent videos and photos. Your pup will be picked up and dropped off; returning better behaved (and fully groomed!).
